What are roles and importance of Media and Technology? Why do we need to have Media and Technology? What is the effect of these in our society?

Media and Technology is really important in our lives. Technology are physical things, they do not communicate. Media are means of communication. They require a source of information and transmitting of information. Although there is usually that media will use technology for the means of transmission and communication. Media is a huge factor in our lives. The media presents us with images of the world all the time. We understand cultures through the media. Also it communicates ideas and brings society together. Through newspapers and television, ideas and beliefs are exchanged and absorbed into people. Some of the broadcasting service in different country lived by motto, inform, educate, and entertain the public. They provided information. Newspapers have political learning, when the public read them they are making a decision as to what they are going to follow.

Media and Technologies are very important most especially in terms of Education. Speech, writing drama, radio and television programming, computer programming are all media. ONLINE JOURNAL (Interview to a Teachers about the influence of Conflict Theory to their work)

CONFLICT THEORY is the social inequality of education wherein it focuses on the struggle of social classes to maintain dominance and power in social system. It also include the I.Q. discrimination of the students. With this topic, our Professor Janice Lozada gave us a task to interview a teacher and we need to know the influence of this theory to their work as a teacher.

Last April 09, 2011, I went to my sister's house in Angono, Rizal. Her name is Ms. Jonalyn D. Malangsa, which now a licenced teacher in St. Martin Montessori handling a high school students. She teach for two years. My purpose to the interview is to know the influence of the Conflict Theory to her work as a teacher. During our interview, Ms. Malangsa told me that as a teacher its his or her responsibility not to be affected by these instances. The teachers have to be very fair and just with their students specially when it comes to the grade results. No matter what their social, economic and individual differences, teachers have to guide the students and give all their time to teach them professionally and wholeheartedly. Also, the teachers should always give student's what they really need and what they deserve whether these student is a rich kid, poor kid, rank 1 or the bullying type. Ms. Jonalyn D. Malangsa said to me that for her two years in teaching, with all her heart and honesty, She's not allowing herself be affected by this Conflict Theory. Conflict partially means "PROBLEM", she don't want to encounter problem in teaching. So shes very particular with how she will show, feel and teach her students the value of love, knowledge, fairness and equality no matter what their individual differences.

I also interviewed my eldest sister which is also a teacher in private school at San beda College Taytay, Rizal. Her name is Mrs. Jo-Ann Malangsa Morales, a licenced teacher and teach for almost five years in the said school. When I asked her about the influence of the Conflict Theory
to her work, she told me that she heard lot of case with regards to public students. Mrs. Morales against to those students sat in front with higher intelligence because it has an effect to a children with a very sensitive common reaction with their selves. she thought that teacher management is the problem. During my interview, she told me that in our world, there's an inequality treatment, those rich and poor are separated. According to Department of Education (DepEd), private and public schools have the same curriculum that they need to follow but the reason why there's a problem is that all the private students have a money to par for all the fees, that's why best things offer to them also they are advance in lessons. While in public, the problem is that they have lack of materials and references to be used of course it's because of lack of financial or budget. Mrs. Morales said that the knowledge of students whether in public or private have the same. She said that this Conflict Theory influenced a lot specially when it comes to I.Q. discrimination. She shared to me that most of the teachers are focusing on the students with above average, I.Q. students with lower I.Q. are sometimes left behind or worst they are taken for granted. Another point that influenced her is the social inequality that some of the teachers gave favors to those pupils who belong in the upper class. Maybe because they don't want criticisms from the parents of those pupils. In short, "nagpapakitang gilas". And those pupils in the lower class doesn't care less even their parents about their school performances. Sad to say but true she said. Reasons why most teachers have their apple of the eye or favorite, that's why "favoritism" is always an issue to every teacher in any educational institutions. Be it private or public.
